Administration
Executive Director
Neel Parikh started as Executive Director in October, 1994. She comes to this position from San Francisco Public Library where she was Chief of Branch Services. She began her career in librarianship as a Children's Librarian, receiving her Masters in Library Science in 1971 from the University of California in Berkeley. The Pierce County Library System Board of Trustees is volunteers appointed by the County Executive, and confirmed by the County Council. They set Library System Policies and oversee budgetary and labor-relations matters. The Board is committed to an ongoing planning effort with emphasis on involvement from the community.
