The Pierce County Library Foundation strategically connects vital literacy and information resources to the needs of the Pierce County Library System beyond the scope of tax-based funding. Through the work of its 20-member board of directors, the Foundation seeks funding from charitable foundations, businesses and individual donors to expand and enhance important library services including Summer Reading activities for school-age children, Early Learning training and book delivery to child care centers, Job+Business Centers and resources for unemployed and underemployed residents and book discussion kits for book clubs. The Foundation also hosts two author events for donors at the Shakespeare giving level of $250 and above, and Gutenberg giving level of $500 and above.
The Pierce County Library Foundation is the fundraising-arm of the Pierce County Library System and was established as a 501(c) (3) in 1970. The mission of the Foundation is to raise, manage and allocate funds to support library programs which benefit our communities.
