One-Shots, Episode 20: October Literary Face-Off: Vampyres v. Werewolves

10/12/2011 9:17 AM
by Alex

Welcome back to One-Shots, where we think "Silent Cal" is a little extreme in terms of selling books - but not much.

Now that we've firmly into the school year, we've been seeing an uptick in students looking for materials on papers, projects, and other schoolwork. Here's a friendly reminder - stuff checks out for three weeks at a time, so the book you think will be there when you want to work on your project the night before? Might still be checked out by someone else. You can still save your bacon (and your grade) through the use of our E-Sources databases at the last minute, but if books are your thing, earlier rather than later might be a good idea.

(Incidentally, if you're still stuck on trying to get a topic together, or there's some other subject that's basically gibberish, we've also got Online Homework Help that can connect you with someone who can help you out.)

Enough of the school stuff. It's time to roll out the opinion counters and talk some smack. So here it is, our literary face-off for October...

The vampyres of the House of Night

versus

The werewolves of Blood and Chocolate

On the one hand, goddess-directed vampires who have already survived a painful change to their bodies, grown in skill and power, some with allegiances lying outside of the House, having to fend off fanatics that would like to see them swept from the earth, and on the other, a pack of tightly-knit loup-garous that fight and hunt together, also blessed by a goddess...and having to fend off fanatics who would like to see them swept from the earth.

Ah, yes, and also a large amount of romantic relationships and potential indecisiveness between many eligible mates and suitors, some based on power, others on love, and still others on...something else.

So if they tusseled, who would come out victorious? Vampyres or Loup-Garous? Register your vote with us in the comments, and spread the word through whatever social media platforms you like. If you're not sure, why not check them both out and see for yourself?

If you've got suggestions for what might make for a more interesting matchup, let us know. Catch you next week!
