One-Shots, Episode 23: November Literary Battle.

11/2/2011 4:42 PM
by Alex

Hello, once again, and welcome to One-Shots, where we use as little filler as possible to give you a full meal of good stuff

Last month's battle between the Loups-Garoux and the Vampyres didn't see much action in the comment section. Perhaps everyone was getting geared up for the new Sparkly Vampire movie coming out next month?

This month, we've taken a slightly different tack. So let's meet the contenders:

In the blue corner, representing, historically, the home team, although best known for their road game skills,

The Legendary Dirty Tricks Brigade of Greece
, also known as "the people who built the Trojan Horse". Their exploits are not just the stuff of legends, the battle they took part is is the springboard for several other legends in their own right, including the Iliad, the Odyssey, and the Aeneid. But it will take all of their skills and strengths to defeat the challenger...

In the red corner, coming off of several impressive win streaks, beating armies, defenders, and an entire mountain range just to get to this point in the competition...

Hannibal, Persian Commander and War Elephant Profiteer
. (Also, shares the same name as a serial killer with a taste for Chianti.)

In history, Hannibal and Rome butted heads in a long and protracted war that cost much on each side. How would have the Greek city-states fared against the marching elephants? Would their sabotage skills allow them to keep Hannibal out and off-guard? You decide. Tell us in the comments. Or mention this entry to your social media friends and have them tell us what they think
