The new library is a wonderful asset for the whole community. Now University Place Pierce County Library has expanded resources and spaces for children, adults and organizations. More than 4,500 people attended the grand opening of the new University Place Library on February 12. Patrons were thrilled by all the features in the new library, many of them funded by philanthropy. Gifts from a supportive community were instrumental in showing what the next generation of libraries will look like and how they will serve our community. More computers and technology, more places for people to gather, spaces created for children and teens, new books and materials that reflect the diversity of interests and cultures in University Place. Although the campaign raised more than any other single fundraising effort, we haven't reached our goal yet. There are significant improvements left unfunded. Our wish list contains items that are beyond what the City can pay for and what the library System can afford. So now is the time to proudly place your name along side others who believe in the great benefits a dynamic library provides and that the investment you make today in your library will strengthen this valuable community asset for years to come. |
