Ruthann Reim McCaffree, co-chair: I love this campaign because libraries have such an important place in communities. I have loved libraries since I was a little girl. My love of reading blossomed with the enthusiastic encouragement of our community librarian when I was growing up. I love the fact that our campaign is going to enable this library to provide benefits to our community that would not be possible otherwise. With these funds we are making something already exceptional even more wonderful. How fabulous is that!
Steve Smith, co-chair: University Place is a great place for me and my family. It is a unique and outstanding community. I am honored to be part of the campaign in establishing a library facility that will compliment and serve our community for years to come.
Karen Bellamy: I just love libraries and reading. I felt at home at my neighborhood library as a kid, and always used the library for studying when I was in school. When we were about 10 and 12, my brother and I made a library up in our attic for the other neighborhood kids. It was complete with cards and card pockets, date due stamps, and a gravity driven book delivery shoot. I've always associated libraries with fun and learning and the excitement of discovering something new.

Phyllis Izant: Because we can, because we care - we support the University Place Library Campaign.
Ed Larson: My support of the library comes out of a desire to provide a place that appeals to everyone, and where everyone can benefit from books, DVDs, resource materials, and a variety of other helpful sources.
Stephanie Levine: “Perhaps no place in any community is so totally democratic as the town library. The only entrance requirement is interest.” ~Lady Bird Johnson
Public libraries provide an enormous service to every member of our community, from birth to old age. They offer a wealth of resources, information, and entertainment in a variety of forms.I choose to support the UP Library Campaign because I believe a literate, educated community is the foundation for a strong, healthy future for us and our children.
Patrick J. Lyon
Beverly McConaghy: Love, Laugh, Learn, Listen... the library of life.
Bunny Nance: When I was a child, walking through the door of the library could take my breath away. Here was a place that expanded my world to one with endless horizons. Between the covers of books, I could travel around the world to exotic places, explore the oceans and the stars, and move through time. In school, the teachers taught us to use the library to find practical answers to questions related to our studies. As an adult, I found inspiration in facing new challenges. The library came to represent the spark to both intellect and imagination. Now, to have the opportunity to help build a new facility that might be that spark for even one child, takes my breath away.
Joe Scorcio: The Library has a long history of significance in University Place. The new library will continue this valuable tradition as a key destination in this community.
June Weled: The library was such a magical place to visit when I was growing up. But times are changing and our community will soon see how our library is meeting the challenge to meld the new digital community with hard copy books. Come in and take a look!
