Block Play

Ages 3 - 7.  

Event audience: Children

Building with blocks develops a child's math and science skills, and provides lots of fun! Bring your children to a block party and build, talk, explore and create together. All you need is imagination!

No registration required.

Bonney Lake Library Friends Used Book Sale

Bonney Lake  10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Event audience: Family

 

Residents donated used books, CDs, tapes and DVDs for the sale. Funds from the book sale will help the Friends sponsor programs for kids and adults as well as furnishings and other needs at the library.

Publisher 2010 for Beginners

South Hill  9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Event audience: Adult

Get started in Publisher and learn how to design, create and edit flyers, business cards and other documents.

Calligraphy Bookmarks

University Place  10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Event audience: Family

Get a free personalized bookmark for a grandparent, parent or older friend in honor of Older Americans Month. Members of the Calligraphy Guild of Tacoma will create calligraphy bookmarks for you and your loved ones.

Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Teen Knitting & Crocheting for Charity

South Hill  1:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Ages 12-18.  

Event audience: Teen/Young Adult

Knit and crochet items for charity and earn volunteer community service hours for school. Projects include hats, scarves and 8" x 8" squares for blankets.

All skill levels welcome. Crochet hooks, knitting needles and yarn will be provided.

Meet Jim Lynch, best-selling and award-winning author of three acclaimed novels set in the Northwest. Lynch will talk about his new book, “Truth Like the Sun,” set in Seattle during the 1962 World's Fair.

  • Author of “The Highest Tide,” 2006 Pacific Northwest Bookseller Award and “Border Songs,” 2009 Washington State Book Award.
  • Lynch lives in Olympia, Wash.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.
