What is Read for the Record?

Read for the Record is a national literacy event sponsored by the Jumpstart organization. Last year, over 2 million adults and children read the same book on the same day. Read for the Record aims to top that number with this year's book, "Llama, Llama Red Pajama" by Anne Dewdney.

How Does it Work?

At the Library - On Oct. 6, bring your children to the library and listen as a storyteller reads "Llama, Llama Red Pajama." Library staff will keep track of how many people come. Please check below for a list of participating libraries and for a schedule of when they will read the story.

At Home - On Oct. 6, after you have read "Llama, Llama Red Pajama, contact Susan and let her know how many people in your household participated.
