On Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, children worldwide will share "Head, Body, Legs: A Story from Liberia", a folktale about cultural diversity and co-operation. After hearing or reading the story, children in grades K-6 in each country will have the opportunity to participate in an international art project. Children are taking part in Australia (New South Wales), Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Denmark, England, Ethiopia, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Korea, Russia, Rwanda, United States (Washington State), Venezuela and Zambia. |
We Share A Story is sponsored by the Pierce County Library Youth Services Department in cooperation with the Bellingham Public Library. This program is being featured as part of United Nations International Education Week.
Henry Holt Publishing, the authors and illustrator of "Head, Body, Legs" have given permission to use the book and illustrations to promote We Share A Story 2007.
