About Children's Catalog
You have access to a special library catalog created specifically for school-age kids. Young people can quickly find the items they are interested in by using this friendly, powerful catalog.
This catalog includes books, CDs, DVDs and other materials that are tagged "target audience = juvenile " in the cataloging record. This helps focus the results to items of more appropriate reading levels.
Topic Category Searches - Powerful and Easy
Look for buttons and links for categories of commonly requested topics, such as countries and states, animals, historical persons, astronomy and other sciences, along with sports, holidays and other fun topics.
Keywords - Found in Titles, Authors, Subjects, Series or Anywhere
Kids can enter their own terms and search the catalog for these words - in titles, author names, subjects, series names, or anywhere in the bibliographic record.
Fiction or Nonfiction
Limit your search by choosing either "Fiction" (stories) or "Nonfiction" (informational or true) buttons at the far right below the search box.
"Get This For Me" - Placing a Hold
Place a hold and have an item sent to your local library using the Get This for Me link.
Where Can I Find the Children's Catalog?
- From the Kids pages, click on the green Children's Catalog icon or the "Kids Catalog" link.
- From the Library home page, click on "Kids Catalog" in the dropdown menu under the orange Kids/Teens tab.
- From library catalog home page, click on the friendly green icon in the lower portion of the page.
Who can use the Children's Catalog?
We designed the catalog for elementary kids, but adults and parents can put it to good use when looking for children's items. It searches the same books, CDs, DVDs and other materials as our full catalog, but limits displayed results to materials tagged as "juvenile".
