Home Care Providers
Ready for Books - The Library prepares a tote bag full of books for your participating home child care center. This bag contains an assortment of about 30 easy picture books, easy readers, board books and some recordings. Fiction and nonfiction materials are included.

How will my home child care benefit from the program?
- Books and reading enrich your curriculum, increase preschoolers' reading readiness and provide fun and enjoyment for all ages.
- Educational resource material such as craft activities, booklists and finger plays are included for the childcare provider. This is a free program. No overdue fines or costs are associated with the program.
How will the home child cares receive materials?
- Bags will be delivered to the Pierce County Library of the home child care provider’s choice. A bag is delivered every other month. The library child care assistant will call when the new bags are ready for pickup.
How do home child cares qualify?
- Be a licensed facility.
- Reside in the Pierce County Library System service area.
How do Home childcares apply?
- Applications are available at all Pierce County Libraries, by mail, or online: Application for Home Child Care providers.
- Home child care providers who meet established criteria will be notified of their acceptance into the program.
