Description of Workshops
Every Child Ready to Read - A workshop for beginning child care providers on the six pre-reading skills children need to know in order to be ready to read. Participants will become familiar with the skills and learn fun and easy ways to help children master them. (2 STARS Hours)
Toddler Fun - Toddlers are busy! You'll learn ways to help 1 - 3 year olds develop rich language skills while having a blast! There will be hands on activities and ideas for books to share. (2 STARS hours)
School-age Literacy Fun - You requested it and here it is! An interactive class where you'll discover many new ways to encourage a love of books and reading in the young school-aged children in your care. (2 STARS hours)
Preschool Science - The natural world is full of wonder. Learn engaging ways to instill a love of science in your preschoolers. Great books will be shared and many ideas for fun and easy activities. Small group sharing will round out the workshop. (2 STARS Hours)
Literacy in Motion - Ready, Set, GO! This workshop will get children up on their feet dancing and moving and develop their literacy skills too! Fun! (2 STARS Hours)
How to Make and Use Flannelboards - This hands-on class will not only teach you how to create gorgeous flannel board figures, but will give you a myriad of ideas on how to develop the literacy skills of the children in your care. Many patterns included! (3 STARS hours)
