Why we read to wee ones
- Reading together gives us a chance to cuddle, and cuddling is vital to healthy brain development.
- Pictures in books help wee ones’ eyes learn to focus.
- When we read with very young children, we are showing them that reading is important.
- For babies, chewing is reading! Eventually, with a little help, they will learn how to properly handle books.
- Reading to wee ones on a regular basis helps prepare them for school.
