Pierce County Library System has access to many periodicals - magazines, journals and newspapers - both in print and electronic formats.
Titles of our magazines in print format are in our catalog. They have an indication of [serial]. Usually only the current issue cannot be checked out. Use the Availabilty by Branch tab in the catalog to identify and place hold on specific issues.

PCL Periodical Holdings List
Text listing of all periodical titles and issue runs that Pierce County Library owns in print or microfilm (fiche or rolls), including issues older than 1999. This list is system-wide and owning branches for each title are listed.
The Library now purchases many magazine and journal subscriptions in electronic format.
Magazine and Journal Articles via E-Sources - electronic resources
Several resources (ProQuest and InfoTrac OneFile) offer thousands of current and archived full-text magazine and national newspaper articles online. Subscriptions are paid by Pierce County Library. Access for free from a library branch, or from home with a valid library card.

(These are not subscribed to by the Library, but are on the open Web - some services may be fee-based.)
Copies of articles from periodicals not owned or subscribed by the Library can often be requested and delivered for you. Please speak to a Librarian to make arrangements. Ask a Librarian.
