In May 2009 people gave Pierce County Library System managers great feedback and helpful comments during the Library’s second round of community meetings to gain input on the Library’s facilities master plan, Pierce County Library 2030. Thank you to those of you who attended.
Also, in May the Library conducted a second round of meetings with Community Leadership Advisory Groups, with great energy, involvement and ideas from community leaders.
At the community and community leaders’ meetings participants reviewed draft recommendations for Pierce County Library 2030, this will guide library services and buildings during the next 20 plus years.
The draft recommendations combined community input from thousands of individuals with an assessment of current library services and buildings, information about future population trends, and best practices from contemporary libraries.
For more info view a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT 3.5mb) about the draft recommendations. This summer library managers will meet with community organizations and share this presentation. If you have a community organization you would like the Library to talk with, please contact Mary Getchell at the Library at mgetchell@piercecountylibrary.org,
