Museum Pass
Did You know that Museum Passes are available via the Library?
As part of a cooperative project between Pierce County Library, Tacoma Public Library, Puyallup Public Library and local museums, Pierce County Library customers have the opportunity to use special passes for free admission to the partnering museums for up to four people.
Partnering museums are Tacoma Art Museum, Children's Museum of Tacoma and Washington State History Museum.
The Art Access Pass is your ticket to Tacoma Art Museum and the world of art. Discover paintings, prints, sculptures, art-making activities and so much more.
- Check out an Art Access Pass at the library, using a valid Library Card.
- Pass cannot be reserved or renewed.
- Present the pass at Tacoma Art Museum's front desk and receive up to four free regular admissions (not including children 5 years and under who are always admitted free.)
- A surcharge may apply to special exhibitions.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups must include one adult for every three children.
- Pierce County Library System locations will loan passes for 3 weeks with a 15¢/day overdue fine.
- Pass users must adhere to the rules of Tacoma Art Museum and Pierce County Library System.

History Pass - Washington State History Museum
Free Admission to Washington State History Museum.
The History Pass is your ticket to an environment where characters from Washington's past speak about their lives. Through interactive exhibits, theatrical storytelling, high-tech displays and dramatic artifacts, learn about our state's unique people and places, as well as their impact on the country and the world.
- Check out a Museum Pass at the library, using a valid Library Card.
- Pass cannot be reserved or renewed.
- One History Pass may be checked out per person, per loan period.
- Present the History Pass at the Washington State History Museum admission desk and receive free admission for up to 2 adults and unlimited children under 18 in your family.
- Passes are not valid for field trips or group tour visits.

Play Pass - Children's Museum of Tacoma
Free admission to Children’s Museum of Tacoma.
The Play Pass is your ticket to a whole new world of learning! The museum’s imaginative environment allows children to test their independence and gain self-confidence through the arts, sciences and creative play. At the Children’s Museum of Tacoma adults will find tools to understand and support children’s learning. Discover the power of play in the lifelong journey of learning!
- Check out a Play Pass at a Pierce County Library, using a valid Library Card.
Pass cannot be reserved or renewed. - Present the Play Pass at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma’s front desk and receive up to 4 free regular admissions. Passes are not honored for group tour visits.
- Pierce County Library System locations will loan passes for 3 weeks with a 15¢/day overdue fine. If Play Pass is lost a fee may be charged.
- Pass users must adhere to the rules of the Children's Museum of Tacoma and Pierce County Library System.

A note about Availability
A note about availability of Museum Passes:
The passes are checked out on a three week loan period in a fashion similar to other library materials.
Availability of museum passes can be viewed in the catalog. Search for "Museum Pass".
Note: Passes show up similar to other items in catalog, however, passes will not accept Hold requests.
A number of Passes are owned by each Pierce County Library, and are on display when available. You are welcome to check out a pass when it is on display.
Like other Library items, each individual museum pass is not available to other customers during its check-out period, so exact availability will vary. Please contact your local library staff for further assistance.
Art Access Pass is available at Fort Lewis Library System, McChord Base Library, Pierce County Library, Puyallup Public Library, Roy Library and Tacoma Public Library.
Play Pass is available at Pierce County Library and Tacoma Public Library.
If you have a Puyallup Public Library card, you may be eligible for a free card with Pierce County Library System. Read more>>
