A blog is a Web site where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.
Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual although some focus on photographs (photoblog), videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media.
The Pierce County Library Blogs are very similar to many of the other blogs that you would find on the Internet.
We have categories of Blogs such as Teen, Webmaster, Podcasts and Mostly NF to name a few. Once you select a category you will then see all the postings that fit into that category. To view the entire topic, select the title of the topic such as Teen Read Week within the Teen Blog. To make a comment on one of the blog postings, click the "Add Comment" button. This will open the Add Comments section where you will see two fields, a "Enter Password" and "Comment" fields.
The Enter Password field is designed as a SPAM Solution, we are using a Security Image Generator sometimes called (CAPTCHA) to prevent SPAM Bots from entering comments into the blog. This not only helps prevent SPAM, but it also helps with the usability as well as the aesthetics of the blog.
Enter the password as seen on the password image into the Password field, then enter your comments and finally click Submit. You will then see your posting at the bottom of the discussion.
