InterLibrary Loan
Finding a Book for you - From somewhere across the USA!
ILL - InterLibrary Loan
Although we offer a very large number of books and other materials, we may occasionally not own the specific book or article you are looking for. In most cases we can request it from another library elsewhere in the country and arrange to have it delivered, so that you pick it up at your local library.
We call this service InterLibrary Loan (ILL).
Currently, only print formats (books and articles) are eligible for ILL via our Library.
How to request an ILL:
If you are visiting a branch:
If you are at a branch, you are welcome to "Request Item" from within WorldCat http://www.worldcat.org]. Worldcat is a combined catalog for many public and academic library holdings across the U.S. , and is now an open resource for the public. You are welcome to use WorldCat to search the title and submit a request directly from that title's record.
Look for "Request Item" link below the title's descriptive display. You will be asked for your library account information and to select a pick-up library. This request feature within WorldCat will only be displayed when using a library terminal.
If you are not at a branch:
If you wish us to locate a specific book title for you, please request this from a staff member at your library, or send the request to E-mail a Question e-mail: webref@piercecountylibrary.org, including as much information about the title as possible, along with your contact information, library card number, and location you would like the item to be sent.
Helpful Tip: You are welcome to use WorldCat to obtain accurate title and author information for books you wish to send ILL request e-mail.
New Title Suggestion for Purchase
If the title you are looking for is new (publication date of this or last year) and does not yet show in our catalog, please see Wish to make a Title Suggestion for Purchase? section at E-mail a Question.
Final purchase decision authority is retained by Library. Purchase decisions take into consideration a number of factors including currency, scope, budget and overall balance of the entire collection.
