Where is it?
You can find out where any book, music, or movie in the library catalog is right now by checking on its status.
- Every item in the library catalog has an Item Status.
- Any title you have requested has a Request Status.
Item Status
Where is this book?
You can check the library catalog to see if a copy of a book, music or movie is available. Search for your title, then click on Availability by Branch. Look in the Status column for one of these terms:
- Held: The item is waiting on the holds shelf for the person who has requested it.
- In: The item is on the library shelf and is ready to be checked out.
- In Process: The new item has arrived at the Processing Center, but is not yet ready for the libraries.
- In-Transit: The item is on its way back to its home library.
- On-Order: The item has been ordered from a vendor, but has not yet arrived for processing.
- Out: The item has been checked out, and is due on the date shown.
- Storage: The item is temporarily unavailable for one of various reasons: library closure or move; out-of-season holiday materials; library in-house mends.
- Transferred: The item is being sent to a library to satisfy a hold request.
Request Status
Where is my request?
After you have requested books, music, movies or other library materials from the library catalog, you can find out what is happening with your request. Log in to your library account, and click on the Requests tab. Look in the Status column for one of these terms:
- Active: You will receive your item as soon as it is available.
- Cancelled: The request will not be filled as is, but you can ask a staff member to reactivate or delete it. Cancelled hold requests remain on your record for 22 days.
- Expired: The hold request was not filled within the specified period of time (350 days). You can reactivate or delete the request, or convert it to an interlibrary loan request.
- Held: Your requested item is ready for you to pick up at your library.
- Inactive: The request has been suspended. You can change the status to Active by clicking on Suspend/Activate Requests at the bottom of the Request screen. For interlibrary loan requests, the item has been requested from another library system, and you cannot change the status.
- Not supplied: The request cannot be filled because no copies of the item are available. You can reactivate or delete the request, or convert it to an interlibrary loan request.
- Pending: A staff person from another library is looking for your item on the shelf and will send it to your library.
- Shipped: Your item is on its way to your library to fill your request.
- Unclaimed: The held item was not picked up within the specified period of time (7 calendar days).
