Email Services

When you sign up for email notices, you will receive important information regarding your library account via email, including:

• Advance reminders that items on your account are about to become due.
• Notices that reserved books and other library items are available for pick up.
• Overdue notices.

If you currently receive your account notices by telephone, switching to email notification is easy. Just sign-up for email notices.

To sign up for library account email notices:

From the email account you would like us to use, please send your request to helpdesk@piercecountylibrary.org

With your request, please include:

• Your first and last name.
• Your library barcode number, located on the back of your library card.
• Your telephone number may also be helpful.

Computer help desk staff will make the change as soon as possible. Please allow a few business days.

To change the email address you wish the notices to be sent:

If you wish us to change the email address for notices your library account, please send the following to helpdesk@piercecountylibrary.org:

• The old email address.
• The new email address.
• Names and library card numbers of each account that you wish this change to be made.

Pierce County Libraries E-News mailing list periodically notifies you of important Pierce County Library System information about news, services and events.

These mailings will be sent to the e-mail account you designate when subscribing to E-News. (Note: This is not the same service as library account notification above.)

• To subscribe: On the home page of the Library's website, click the "Join email list" button, this will take you to the registration page. Enter your email address and click submit.
• To unsubscribe: At the bottom of an email that you received from the list service you will see instructions on how to unsubscribe. For example, a statement similar to this will appear at the end of the mailing:

"You are currently subscribed to piercexnl32 as: email@email.com.To unsubscribe send a blank email to leave-piercexnl32-0000000P@book.dearreader.com."

Actual wording will vary depending on specific list.

Pierce County Library System is pleased to offer access to a fun and easy way to sample new popular books online, through the Online Book Clubs from DearReader.com.

This service is free to you and is available to anyone who has an e-mail account. The mailings will be sent to the e-mail account you enter during the Online Book Club sign-up.

Each day (Monday-Friday) you can read approximately five minutes worth of a book, covering the first two to three chapters by the end of the week. Each week a new book is started.
