The following is information on e-mail services offered at Pierce County Library.
When you sign up for e-mail notification, you will receive important information regarding your library account via e-mail, including:
If you currently receive your account notification by telephone (ELVIS) or by postcard, switching to e-mail notification is easy. Just sign-up for e-mail notification.
To sign up for library account e-mail notification:
From the e-mail account you would like us to use, please send your request to helpdesk@piercecountylibrary.org:
With your request, please include:
- Your first and last name.
- Your library barcode number, located on the back of your library card.
- Your telephone number may also be helpful.
The Computer Help Desk will make the change as soon as possible. Please allow a few business days.
To change the e-mail address you wish the notification to be sent:
If you wish us to change the e-mail address for notification your library account, please send the following to helpdesk@piercecountylibrary.org:
- The old e-mail address,
- the new e-mail address,
- Names and the library card numbers of each account that you wish this change to be made.

Pierce County Libraries E-News mailing list periodically notifies you of important Pierce County Library System information about news, services and events.
These mailings will be sent to the e-mail account you designate when subscribing to E-News. (Note: This is not the same service as library account notification above.)

Pierce County Library System is pleased to offer access to a fun and easy way to sample new popular books online, through the Online Book Clubs from DearReader.com.
This service is free to you and is available to anyone who has an e-mail account. The mailings will be sent to the e-mail account you enter during the Online Book Club sign-up.
Each day (Monday-Friday) you can read approximately 5 minutes worth of a book, covering the first 2 to 3 chapters by the end of the week. Each week a new book is started.

If you are experiencing difficulties in connections to our services (such as E-Sources, the electronic resources databases, or some aspect of using our catalog), you may wish to contact the Computer Help Desk via e-mail for troubleshooting help.
