Your Pierce County Library card will bring you the world of information and imagination!

- Welcome to 10,555 new library card holders during the month of October!
- The Library System provided a card to every student in Franklin Pierce Schools that did not already have a card.
- Following the card drive, a record 273,789 people have Pierce County Library cards.
- During the card drive, people could enter to win a Kindle Fire HD, a gift from Pierce County Library Foundation. Kaitlyn Malone of Lake Tapps is the proud winner.

Whatever your age, baby to adult, you can choose between many different styles of Pierce County Library cards.
With your smartphone, you can use a card app from either CardStar or KeyRing and take your library card everywhere on your phone.
Top reasons to get a library card

- 1 million books, movies and more.
- Online help in real time from professional tutors and coaches for help with homework and getting jobs.
- E-books, audiobooks and songs to download. Download e-books for free to iPad, Kindle or other readers. Download audiobooks for road trips or to escape traffic nightmares.
- Credible, reliable information from e-sources of subscription magazines and databases such as Consumer Reports, Morningstar Investment Research Center and Chilton car repair. Home access to e-sources would cost you $1,000s without a library card.
- Museum passes to Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum and Washington State History Museum.
Who can get a card?
You are eligible for a free library card if you live or own property in unincorporated Pierce County or a city or town annexed to Pierce County Library System – Bonney Lake, Buckley, DuPont, Eatonville, Edgewood, Fife, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Milton, Orting, South Prairie, Steilacoom, Sumner, University Place or Wilkeson – or you live on a military base, tribal land or national park within unincorporated Pierce County.
If you live in Puyallup, Roy or Tacoma, you may also get a free card through borrowing agreements with Pierce County Library.
