Legal Help and Information

CLEAR (Coordinated Legal Education, Advice and Referral) Hotline - Citizens with a low income may call CLEAR toll-free to get legal advice and referral to volunteer resources in Pierce County.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:15 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.
Phone: 888-201-1014. You may have to wait because the number may be very busy.
Age 60 or more? Call CLEAR Sr. at 888-387-7111.

Consumer Guide to Legal Help: Washington - The American Bar Association's collection of links that assists with locating legal information, and help with finding and using a lawyer.

Pierce County Law Library - Provides legal information services to the public by assisting with access to the collection of state and local codes and other resources.
Note: The Library will not perform any service which might constitute the practice of law, i.e., interpreting case law or statutes, assisting with the completing of forms, or advising people about specific legal problems.

Lawyer Referral - Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association - This service provides 1,300 referrals each year for members of the public seeking attorneys in most areas of law. The program is sponsored as a public service for those who need an independent lawyer's advice and can pay a reasonable fee.
