To provide library users with information or materials beyond the library's resources, Pierce County Library may obtain through interlibrary loan materials which are either not available for purchase or do not meet selection criteria.

It may be necessary to recover the cost of this specialized service through the imposition of a fee. Any library user may be allowed a minimum number of interlibrary loans from other libraries without charge in any calendar year.

The minimum number of free loans per calendar year and the fee for loans above the minimum will be set by the library administration and shall apply to all library staff and library users.
