How to meet the needs of your growing community?
In winter 2018 thousands of people talked with library leaders about what they want, need and value most from the Library. They shared their priorities for library services at community meetings, at open houses and in surveys.
A community advisory committee recommended Pierce County Library System place a levy lid lift on the November 2018 ballot asking voters to restore Library funding to 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, to serve Pierce County’s growing and changing communities.
On July 11 the Board passed a resolution which put the levy on the Nov. 6, 2018 general election.
Costs to operate and maintain Pierce County Library System’s services and libraries are increasing at a faster and higher rate than revenues.
