Museum Pass
Check out a pass for free admission to museums
As part of a cooperative project among Pierce County Library, Tacoma Public Library, Puyallup Public Library and local museums, Pierce County Library customers have the opportunity to use special passes for free admission to the partnering museums.
Partnering museums are Foss Waterway Seaport, Harbor History Museum, Lakewold Gardens, Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum and Washington State History Museum.
Information for all passes
- Visit your Pierce County Library to check out a museum pass, using a valid library card.
- Checkout is limited to 1 pass per museum for 1 week. You may check out passes to 6 different museums.
- Although passes cannot be reserved or renewed, you can check for availability by searching the library catalog for "museum pass."
- Pass users must adhere to the rules of the museum.
Foss Waterway Seaport - Seaport Pass
Free admission to the Foss Waterway Seaport.
The Seaport Pass is your ticket to Puget Sound’s extraordinary maritime heritage. Experience the sights, sounds and classic beauty of the historic Balfour Dock Building and the waterfront esplanade. Discover permanent and rotating exhibits, and observe traditional maritime crafts and construction skills at the working heritage boat shop.
- Present the pass at the Foss Waterway Seaport front desk and receive free admission for up to 2 adults and 4 children under the age of 18. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for ticketed events, field trips or group tour visits.

Harbor History Museum - Harbor History Pass

Admission to the Harbor History Museum is now free. No pass is required.
The Harbor History Pass opens the door to the Gig Harbor Peninsula area’s people, places and events through intriguing exhibits, programs and artifacts. Step aboard the purse seiner Shenandoah, experience life in a one-room schoolhouse and explore exhibit galleries packed with stories of the harbor’s amazing past.
- Present the pass at the Harbor History Museum front desk and receive up to four free regular admissions. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for field trips or group tour visits.

Lakewold Gardens - Garden Pass
Free admission to Lakewold Gardens.
The Garden Pass is your entry to a premiere Northwest garden experience 100 years in the making. Walk the paths of Lakewold Gardens and stroll through a period in garden history when classic European design came face to face with America’s emerging landscape masters.
- Present the pass at Lakewold Gardens and receive free admission for up to 2 adults and 3 students ages 13-18. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for ticketed events, field trips or group tour visits.
- Passes are not valid for the Beautiful Tables Showcase.
Museum of Glass - Glass Pass
Free admission to Museum of Glass.
The Glass Pass is your ticket to contemporary glass art. Watch artists in action in the hot shop amphitheater, and see changing and permanent exhibitions in the galleries. Create your own glass art or participate in a family-friendly art activity in the education studio.
- Present the pass at the Museum of Glass front desk and receive free admission for up to 2 adults and unlimited family members under 18.
- Passes are not valid for group tour visits.

Tacoma Art Museum - Art Access Pass
Free admission to Tacoma Art Museum.
Take the Art Access Pass to the Tacoma Art Museum, a public-spirited institution that champions a dynamic and responsive approach to exhibitions that emphasize the art and artists of the Northwest and broader western region.
- Present the pass at Tacoma Art Museum’s admission desk and receive admission for up to 2 adults and 4 children under the age of 18. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for field trips, group tour visits, ticketed lectures or events.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Pay-per-hour parking is available at TAM and surrounding locations.

Washington State History Museum - History Pass
Free admission to Washington State History Museum.
The Washington State History Museum is where fascination and FUN come together! With the History Pass, explore Washington’s people, places and impacts on the world through the museum’s interactive exhibits, dynamic storytelling and amazing artifacts. There is always something new to see, do and learn.
- Present this pass for free admission for up to 2 adults and 4 children under the age of 18. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for field trips or group tour visits.
- Passes are not valid during the annual Model Train Festival.

**The annual Model Train Festival will be held from Dec. 17, 2021, through Jan. 2, 2022. Library passes will not be accepted during this time.
