A free program in which the library delivers books to your Child Care Center! Every 6 weeks, containers filled with developmentally appropriate books are delivered to your center along with information about the library and an Early Learning Newsletter.
A free program in which every month the library delivers a bag of 22 books to the library nearest you. The bags contain a variety of books and music for all ages as well as information about the library and an Early Learning Newsletter. The application process for this service is currently suspended. Social Emotional Learning and Literacy
Come and learn some new books, songs, and activities you can use right away with your children that discuss emotions, self-regulation, building friendships, and much more on the topic of social emotional learning. There will also be time to share with each other in small groups some of your favorite books and materials on this topic!

STARS is Washington’s State Training And Registry System for child care providers. The Library System offers many different training workshops for STARS credit. Many of these trainings can be done at your site.
Flannel Board Fun: How to Make and Use Flannel Boards
Do you enjoy sharing songs, telling stories, and playing games in your circle times? Did you know that you can do all these fun activities using flannel board pieces that you create yourself? In this class, you will learn a method for creating your own beautiful and durable flannel board pieces to practice early literacy and early math skills (and so much more!) in your circle times with children.
STARS credit is available to all teachers of young children in Pierce County!
