Child Care Centers
Ready for Books - A free program in which the library delivers books to your center every 6 weeks. The delivery consists of tubs of developmentally appropriate books for for infants and toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children (or all three). Each center chooses the appropriate age tubs for their needs.
How will Child Care Centers benefit from the program?
- Books and reading enrich your curriculum, increase preschooler’s reading readiness, and provide fun and enjoyment for all ages.
- Educational resource material such as craft activities, booklists and finger plays are included for the teachers.
How do Child Care Centers qualify?
- Be a licensed facility
- Reside in the Pierce County Library System Service area
How do Child Care Centers apply?
- Applications are available at all Pierce County Library System branches, by mail, by telephone, or print off online: Child Care Center application.
- Child Care Centers meeting established criteria will be notified of their acceptance into the program.
