Although Pierce County Library offers a very large number of books and other materials, the Library may occasionally not own the specific book or article you are looking for. In most cases you can request it from another library elsewhere in the country and pick it up at your local library.
We call this service Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
To request an Interlibrary Loan, please proceed as though requesting the title for purchase. If the title you are requesting is one we decide to not add to our collection through purchase, we will attempt to InterLibrary Loan the title for you.
In this request form, you will be asked to give us an upper limit of potential ILL borrowing charges you would be willing to pay. We always attempt to borrow from US libraries willing to loan for free, and most libraries do loan for free. But if the only owning libraries charge a borrowing fee for ILL, your stated upper limit will guide us in either continuing or cancelling that particular request.
If you are requesting an article or obituary copy, please also proceed as though requesting the title for purchase, and then select the specific format. You will then be guided to provide article and/or obituary specific information.
Please limit your requests to no more than 3 titles per month.
