We are reopening Parkland/Spanaway Pierce County Library, with some in-building services so people of all ages can browse bookshelves and find books and movies on their own. These locations join Bonney Lake, Buckley, DuPont, Eatonville, Fife, Gig Harbor, Graham, Key Center, Milton/Edgewood, South Hill, Summit, Sumner, Steilacoom, Tillicum and University Place Pierce County Libraries which opened recently.
Pick up books, movies and more at Library Curbside, available at 19 of the Library System's 20 locations!
Masks required in building (5 and older) unless you are fully vaccinated. Children ages 2-4 are strongly encouraged to wear a mask per the Department of Health.
We are thrilled to welcome you safely back inside library buildings for browsing and technology services. Please use self-checkout stations and limit your time in the buildings.
What’s not open:
Please call the library to get ideas for alternate donation places in your community.
Throughout the summer, the Library plans to open 18 of its 20 locations for browsing services, as it learns from this pilot.
We’re very glad to offer Library Curbside service.
Pick up a COVID-19 Test Kit from your Pierce County Library. Call your library to find out how to pick up a free kit during curbside hours.
The Library System will not assess fines for overdue books and materials for the remainder of 2021 given the ongoing economic burden brought on by the pandemic as well as the overall disruption to library service.
Book Drops Open
Book drops are open at all locations. Materials will be checked in after being quarantined for several days and there are no late fines in 2021.
Free Wi-Fi service is on for limited use outside of the buildings in parking lots. Please be sure to social distance – keeping a minimum of six feet away from others when you are in the parking lots and respecting all library instructions. Connectivity issues may arise as Wi-Fi coverage is intended for use inside the library buildings. Staff is not available to assist with connecting with this service. If you need assistance, please contact your mobile service provider or other support.
