Masks required in library buildings (5 and older). Following Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department’s directive and the State of Washington’s order, the Pierce County Library System requires the public and staff, regardless of vaccination, to wear masks to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Children ages 2-4 are strongly encouraged to wear a mask per the Department of Health.
Also, per public health directives, masks are required outdoors where physical distancing isn’t possible.
Free test kits were provided through a partnership with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests. The tests are completely free. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days. Order from COVIDtests.gov.
To find more testing resources in Pierce County, please see Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
We are thrilled to welcome you safely back inside library buildings for browsing and technology services. Please use self-checkout stations and limit your time in the buildings.
