Test Proctoring
We are currently not offering test proctoring at any of our locations due to changes related to COVID-19. If you have questions please Ask a Librarian or call 253-548-3300.

Student responsibilities
The student will be responsible for:
- Scheduling time to take the test.
- Contacting the testing institution and identifying requirements.
- Verifying with library staff that the requirements of the testing institution can be met. See Library responsiblities below and Test Proctor Responsibility Form.
- Bringing photo ID.
- Coming prepared with the necessary or required supplies and equipment.
- Paying all costs associated with taking and submitting the test, such as printing and postage.
- Completing proctored tests at least 30 minutes before the library's scheduled closing time.
- Verifying that the test has been received by the educational institution.
Library responsibilities
The library will be responsible for:
- Accepting tests via mail or email.
- Checking and verifying the student’s photo ID.
- Providing space and a computer, if necessary. Students may use their own computers.
- Providing someone to observe student take the test, while that person performs other duties.
- Documenting the beginning and end times of test.
- Shredding all untaken tests after expiration date.
- Returning tests via prepaid envelope or email.
Note: Library staff who provide test proctoring will fill out and sign the Pierce County Library System Test Proctor Responsibility Form in lieu of any other contracts provided by the testing education institution.
